I downloaded the entire first season; S1 just finished in the States a few weeks ago, and I saw the entire first season about 2 months before that.

It's an excellent show. Better than any sci-fi shows that I can remember on TV recently (B5 excluded, for now)

I thought it was pretty well done overall but I found a lot of the political claptrap a bit tiresome i.e. lots of political posturing despite the fact that as far as any of the characters knew, the future of the human race was at stake.

Definitely a case for martial law there.

I'm certain it was meant as allegory and social commentary toward the current political discussion in the US. (though I disagree with the direct comparison, if that's what the author intended)

Hmm. Possibly - can't say I really thought much about that!

In general the series was pretty well done, I suppose. I'll certainly watch the next series once it comes on.
