Forcing 4x supersampling on GF4?

Well, for OpenGL, RivaTuner offers a "GeForce2 compatibility mode" that should do what you describe. Haven't tried it yet. What game are you talking about?

Might and Magic VII, I haven't quite finished it yet. It's D3D and software only. The game has the most hideous texture aliasing I've seen. I believe it doesn't use mip-mapping, so that would be a reason.

(edit)
4xS and 8xAF looks (relatively) nice, except that 4xS causes some occational strange patterns in the background. The game looked better with a GF2 (4xSSAA+AF).

I seem to remember that there were some old drivers where you could force automatic mipmap generation. Those drivers would probably not work with your GF4, but maybe there is a registry key that turns automatic mipmap generation on?
