I´d agree with you if the PSU characters had 10 times less polygons on them.

The game looks very nice, really vibrant colors, pretty good geometry all around. It doesn´t seem to have anything new in technical terms, but the artwork and presentation makes up for that so far.

something about the way Sega uses color palettes and geometry gets on my nerves... You can tell a Sega game miles away its like they use the same 16-bit palette over and over again no matter how many colors are at their disposal....

Only VF imho ever branches out beyond the old "sega" way.

and I am a Sega Fanguy but I wish they would update their style with the times

The clean lines looked Xbox-y to me. All nice and antialiased, but then, these are developer's shots.

There's also something about the dome textures and palm trees in the third shot that just made me think of Xbox. Granted, this wouldn't be a great-looking Xbox game, but I thought of Xbox anyway before PS2.

Aw, I was hoping for a true next gen Phantasy Star, with either next gen graphics or at least high end current gen graphics, this looks like yet another game using a tweaked Phantasy Star Online engine.(compare to card battle....)

Because if it is you'd have to compare it to other mmorpgs . Only example would be final fantsy . And compared to that these graphics are good . If its a normal rpg then yea you guys are right the graphics aren't that great. Of course if the game is great who cares
