Game Cube VGA Cable

It's a modified component cable. I got one, brilliant IQ. I bought mine here. It was the cheapest shop in Europe, it's also easy to import (mail order) it from HK, but the shipping costs and the tax are ruining the fun.

EDIT: not every GC game is able to output progressive scan, before purchasing software, it's a good idea to check this page: http://hdgames.net/

MP's design is incredible, it's so detailed its downright SCARY. I've gone over some rooms literally dozens of times and then stopped only to find new little bits I hadn't seen before. Just wait til you come to the Phendrana drifts first time, I bet you'll get impressed ALL OVER AGAIN, hehehe! :)
Yeah it looked pretty good. I'm in the Phazon Mines (I think I spelled that right) battling pumped up pirates... they hurt :(
Overall, Chozo probably looks the best in the game methinks. They spent a LOT of time on those rooms...! Phendrana's almost as detailed, Magmoor is pretty nice too. Phazon mines are nice as well yet not quite as detailed, and the sunken cruiser is probably the boringest place visually. Not having the gravity suit when first entering makes it one of the most frustrating too. :)
Yep, I managed to get into the cruiser without the gravity suit as well... oops :p

OpenGL guy

On top of the other games mentioned here I'd suggest you also pick up Viewtiful Joe and F-Zero GX, they're both absolutely excellent new games.

My GC cost some 250€ last Christmas but it was worth it because of Eternal Darkness. Excellent game. And the only one I've actually played with my GC, with the exception of Marion Sunshine.

For the last 4-5 months my GC has been collecting dust in some box, waiting for a decent priced Metroid Prime. But still, Eternal Darkness is one of the best games out there.

Wow, how come a TV has VGA and not component? Wierd Euro TVs.(I have seen one in America though, but I think it either had d-terminal or a dvi connection also)

And yes, not all GC games support pro scan, so not all games would work on your TV with the VGA cable. Nearly any high profile game(ie nintendo or closely related game) should work in proscan, except timesplitters 2, mortal kombat, the 2 resident evils...maybe a few more. Heck, if mortal kombat is high profile, I might as well add that star wars the clone wars, agent under fire, spy hunter, super monkey ball 1, and extreme g 3 don't work in proscan either.

BTW, now you have the difficult decision over whether to get the US or PAL Metroid Prime.....US has proscan and sequence breaking and more story(some stuff was removed from the PAL version), while I think the PAL version has pixel shaded water, and probably some bug fixes and stuff.

And Miksu- Metroid Prime is now down to either $20 or $30.

Really?.. where did you hear all that?

From people who have played both versions.

US does have proscan.
Much of the sequence breaking(getting items before you're suppose to) in the US version was removed the European version by adding destructable objects in front of some places or just fixing some glitches(like being able to jump from the top of samus's ship onto a higher level).
Any references to the final boss were removed from the PAL version, for some reason or other.(maybe they decided to make it tie into metroid fusion and wanted to leave the story more open to change?)
And I heard there were some graphical enhancements regarding water, I think it was pixel shading, plus either the saves are smaller or the game saves faster..and I think it loads faster too in those elevator scenes.

Yeah, I heard about those changes to the PAL game. Especially the voice changes as they were announced as if entire logs would be read out, when infact all we got was some speech that said "a log entry has been added" something like that, and some speech for "door locked" ect. Very disapointing :(

Bump!

Picked one up for a friend..

Got a Platinum GC ($99 CDN), Metroid Prime ($39 CDN), Animal Crossing ($39 CDN), REmake ($59), Mem card 251, and BestBuy threw in the preview disc and the Rebel Strike demo.

All that came for a grand total of $271 CDN, or $204 US going by today's exchange rate :)
