Final Fantasy XV [XO, PS4, PC]

All of the stuff in the trailer is some nightmare/prophecy, who knows what will actually be in the game.

just rewatched the omen trailer. it now reminds me of FFvs13. Where you are supposedly fighting versus the heroine and the game is much bleaker.

Can someone explain to me what the point of NG+ is in this game? You carry over everything (most anyway) but the game is at the same difficulty? At least in Bloodborne NG+ kept getting more and more difficult.

porbably to enjoy the revamped story in future update?

Finally clocked the game at 28 hours, the game gets really good at times but falls to pieces many other times. I really hope SE would put more effort into how to flesh out the characters and making a cohesive story next time, it has some really good ideas but just not very clearly told. Love the ending though, the game is
depressing as hell, can't believe everyone bit the dust:(
and the
Ifrit
fight is definitely one of the most memorable and beautiful looking boss fight ever, so much wow in that sequence:yep2:!

Yup that fight and boss was just beautiful. I'm at around 110 hours, I find the game is a lot more interesting once you finish it and go back to Lucis to level up, get great weapons, break limits etc. You'll have that done by the time new content is released :)

Yeah will try to max out the remaining Ascension powers, monster hunts and side quests for the time being and starting a NG+ after playing the new contents of course.

How the hell do u guys finish such games? I keep doing side quests forever. The only reason i finished Witcher 3 was becuase i had to put out a review ! Otherwise i would have never left that world.
I dont think i can finish this in thr near future unless i tear my heart out and just do the story missions against the will of my head, brain, heart etc. Thats my problem with all open world games which are interesting. I fear i will miss out on something so i keep doing the side quests becuase my interest dies once the main story is over. Even if the world and game is interesting my mind feels the game is done. - _-

But the overall result appears much downgraded from the Leviathan trailer. That was one of the most impressive segments and one I wanted to experience.
I am hugely disappointed

The Leviathan segment in the E3 trailer was pre-rendered. They didn't even decide to go full open world until after that trailer was revealed and then merged with the Luminous team.

The final game looks the best it ever has in terms of any real-time segments they've shown since 2013.

I'm not sure about spoiler 1 though. I can see why you say that but it was not clear enough for me...

The boy band would have made an appearance in the actual world honoring their late king Noctis at the grave if they're still alive. Yeah I just can't see a game such as this would omit a cutscene about honoring a King's death. The fact that they showed up in Noctis' Ascension realm fighting Ardyn pretty much confirmed they're dead as they were killed by Ardyn's purple magic. Also the cutscene after end credit with the group at the bonfire with Noctis sharing his deep affection and the guys reciprocating with tears somehow pre emptied the dire consequence of what's to come.
The ending is definitely more impactful that way.

I'm still not convinced...

You can still say the same thing about them all though. There were support characters throughout the game that could honor them all and not only Noctis at their graves as well. None of that happened, hence I think it was not a scene the developers considered at all.
Them showing up on the Ascension realm could be just a projection from Noctis mind (sort of "I have to fight for their future") since they don't really do any fight there. Plus, why would they be in that realm at all? It is the ancient kings realm, they have no place there.
Also no, they were not killed by Ardyn purple magic. They show up pretty much alive after that and the last time we see them they are fighting daemons to let Noctis sacrifice himself. They fought daemons for 10 years and none of them died.
I read the after credit bonfire scene as Noctis having just told them he needs to sacrifice himself (the meaning behind "I made my peace") the tears being for Noctis fate alone.

Ah yes I missed that part about the guys surviving that purple magic, my bad. In that case the brothers would have lived. Still it's pretty depressing, both Noct and Luna are dead and there's no apparent heir to the throne till Noctis' long lost blood brother in XV X2.

I think Eos does not need another King. The empire is dead as well and the scourge of the stars ended with Ardyn. The world is at peace, that is the silver lining after the tragedy. Even the Main Screen changes to light and the music is more positive sounding :)
Unfortunately that is also at the expense of the players loss :(
In some ways, I left the main story feeling like I sacrificed something also to bring light, which is a really nice feeling in some way.
Despite all its flaws, its the first game in years that inspired such feelings on me. I love it!

Just got the edition with the season pass (both FFXV and this one is on sale for 2 days). Loving the menu so far, very reminiscent of xenoblade chronicles :D

Guess i'll re-watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood while waiting for the download to finish.

Watching kingsglaive makes a huge difference. I started without it but then watched and now its a totally different thing. The game just tells u nothing

It's good that it's a nice film, i liked it more than Advent Children to be honest. And i'm currently watching Brotherhood, i'd say it is just as important, some important character building in this one :yep2:

Too bad A1 pictures' budget for brotherhood seems to be very limited. The animations are sooo lazy
