Final Fantasy XV [XO, PS4, PC]

Btw the pc version they showed in Siggraph or something a few months ago looks really handsome.

Tabata also said ages ago the pc version won't be a simple port. So probably it will contain even more of their original vision that were cut (probably visual-wise, content-wise we can hope modders to hack it up and excavate it)

Well, to get back to the game itself.

All my characters are now lvl 99. I've done 3 of the secret dungeons - one of them is a ridiculously long 100-level, 4-hour long dungeon I never want to touch ever again. I have a few hunts left to do, some weapons to get, of course all those crazy Ascension skills that require tons of APs, then I think I'm pretty close to 100% completion. Bring on additional content!

But still I am super excited about the action of this game !

Simultaneous release with PS5 remaster in 3 years I predict.

Can someone explain when to press Square when the icon flashes? I mean the rhino like creature is charging, the icon keep flashing, when exactly am I supposed to press sqaure to get that dodge ad parry?

when it appears, you hold square until the parry animation is playing

basically in FFXV, most action is "hold" instead of "one press or multiple presses"

Oh thanx for the info. I thought press square was for dodge while hold was some other kindof "defense". I guess i will try it out.
Rest of the combat is so amazing. The demo disc didnt give a proper taste as it was on easy mode [emoji14]

If you press square the exact moment the attack hits you, no MP is consumed (requires a character upgrade). It even gets replenished (another upgrade further down the same tree)

Once you get the Amigar chain it's just pure eye dazzles :), the combat is the best thing happened to this game.
OK the game from chapter 9 onward has really got my attention now, my heart was broken when
Luna died just like that, the CGI was classic FF and really re captured that Aerith's death theme
:cry::cry:. And
Ignis got blind was also most unfortunate, the self loathing of Noctis and his resolve with Gladios' conflict
were all pretty emotional I thought. I'm so gonna miss
Lunafreya
, damn you Nomura!
The CG was so beautiful!

The second emotional punchline on your list was very effective indeed. You spend loads of time with the guys after all. The others all felt very unearned and fell completely flat as a result. I hope all the upcoming extra bits and pieces SE has promised for FFXV can flesh out and tighten the narrative. There's potentionally something good here, but too much of the important stuff is happening either off-screen entirely, or in truly baffling moments of the blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind. Be as vague and obtuse as you want in a game like Dark Souls. It's part of the draw for some, but most just join up for the gameplay. It has no place in a FF game, though. I thought the game did an exceptionally poor job at conveying the motivations of its villain character in particular.

Damn they actually removed the part with Leviathan? That looked awesome.
Also am I the only one that feels the game got downgraded since that reveal?

I was making graphics comparison from 4 public version of ffxv but turns out it's too bothersome so I didn't :/

Basically the game got downgraded and then upgraded and then downgraded and then upgraded

Man, the combat is pure awesomeness !!! The regalia feels at odds with the game though, I mean u miss everything worthwhile if u hop into it since it stays on the road and the whole game is outside the roads, at least till now.
Having fun just finding monsters and killing them.
One doubt: when I craft a spell how do I know how many times I will be able to use it before it gets over? Cant find any counter telling me anything.

But the overall result appears much downgraded from the Leviathan trailer. That was one of the most impressive segments and one I wanted to experience.
I am hugely disappointed

basically its like this

Duscae area -> upgraded by a lot after the downgrade in early versions, now almost as good as their original reveal.
any other area -> downgraded

it seems they spend too much time polishing duscae region, neglecting all other areas.

but i suspect, their time and workforce were spread too thin on so many stuff, including things that were cut or severely underused. for example: the whole Insomnia area and "dark world". Its still there, but severely underused.

and a bunch of cut areas.... too many to mention
