Final Fantasy XV [XO, PS4, PC]

The demo was so strange! Parts of the graphics look incredible, while others make it look closer to FF13 on PS3. Some serious aliasing going on and the framerate was all over the place. Very weird.

some even have textures that looks like PS2

Yeah it's definitely a mixed bag, hoping that it is an old build and the final game will be more consistent visually.
I just don't understand. There's two options here:

1. It's an old build, and now the game runs much better. I'm sure this is closer to the truth, with the extra time they have. If so, why release it 4-5 months before the final game comes out?

2. This is how FF15 looks and run. Very disappointing. But unlikely in my opinion.

Both options had the same result for me, and I'm sure most others: absolutely no preorder and no purchase until we get final reviews.

What a load of bollocks.

I think the game has been in development so long that some assets are made for PS3 and some for PS4 or something like that. As for that texture, walking around in miniature may well have been an (VR inspired?) afterthought to which textures haven't been updated.

NX gamer seems to think there's TAA in that demo, i might have missed this. Didn't see any ghosting artifacts maybe that's why. Still, hair looks like ass with all that aliasing, hoping they at least do something about that... Hair animation on the other hand is absolutely fantastic, best animated hair I've seen in real-time.

And for anyone who missed this, the anime (episode 1)

DF analysis

There seems to be some shading/shadow differences between the two versions, not sure if it's just cloud shadows

Noctis hair and skin as well as the background look completely different between the two

As mentioned a few times (on the videos, so easy to miss), it's the same frame pacing issues Bloodborne and a few other games seem to have.

I liked the demo, input lag is noticeable but combat is fun and teleporting around never gets old.
Dragon's Dogma wasn't a tech masterpiece either either bu it was fun which is what matters to me.

Too bad I will probably be able to play FXV only in August 2017 :(

Hopefully they can fix up their post TAA implementation by release. It's horrid in motion but when it works properly it looks fantastic.

That looks amazing. If they get it right this is going to be a stunner. Improve lod, framerate and AA and i don't care about anything else. If they have to drop to 900p + taa for Ps4 so be it, make it perform consistently though.

Some new tidbits from Gameinformer:

-There are branching dialogue choices similar to older FFs.

-The game has a magic synthesis system to create more powerful spells.

-You can forge better versions of weapons by collecting material from the world and through battles.

-There will be a growth system where you can spend ability points on weapon skills, Noctis, the party, bonuses…

-Four quest types - leisurely (fishing quests/chocobo race, etc.), main story quests, monster hunts, and regional quests. Currently over 200 quests and more are being created.

The budget for FFXV and everything FFXV related must be well over 500m, they even got an epic meal episode dedicated to FFXV

Square Enix brought us out to Japan for FFXV so we decided to put an Epic spin on a classic Japanese meal!

Where's the fetch quest? I love being an imaginary FedEx agent in a fantasy world. It's full of imagination!

Seriously, how much of that will be fetch quest or classic ubisoft busy work?
