Final Fantasy XV [XO, PS4, PC]

Platinum demo, despite its name, is not a demo. It is some sort of side story/dream and will not be present in the final game. Also, I thought the section when you where tiny in the dining room was really cool!

FFXV main character Noctis has a very unique skill "warp". It is rarely found in most open-world games. With this skill he can move more than a hundred meters instantaneously in various direction (including vertical move). Does this warp feature cause more development issues in an open-world game?

eh...the demo feels like a mess. Camera angles are often dodgy. And when you get to battle the monster sometimes there is so much black crash you can barely see anything

What does frame time (ms) represent? Also its kinda weird that the PS4 version gets that odd frame extra or less all the time

It's such a weird artstyle! I don't know what go think of it, but I am not sure I like it. The gameplay on the other hand seems ok, I much preferred XII's gameplay and this seems like it.

The gameplay In platinum demo is more like ff13 than the duscae demo.

So it seems their vision is to emulate ff13 gameplay?

But I hate that gameplay. Much prefer duscae :(

PS4 v XBO Demo frame rate test

This matches my experience on PS4, gameplay was mostly solid 30fps with drops in cinematic and during rare busy magic moments in battles.

For a demo of a game that comes out in 6 months, it was more than fine.

One of my favorite tracks from the demo

Another great one

And the battle theme

FFXV might end up having the best soundtrack in the series (Yoko Shimomura is quality) :D

Hm, the demo doesn't look to bad imo. The sound is strange. It seems to be directly from one of the Schwarzenegger movies...either Conan or Red Sonya?!?

Here it is

The whole thing felt so sluggish I never would have guessed the framerate was this consistent. Probably another case of animation-trumps-all. Really makes me appreciate the responsiveness of games like Bloodborne or Arkham Knight.

Oh, and they really need to do something about that lighting. Sure, it can look rather nice in places, but dear god the black crush is just irritating as hell.

Game felt very sluggish for me as well, just controlling Noctis was a pain in some parts. At least the game has a semi-automatic combat system so it's less noticeable during combat.

PS4 v XBO Demo frame rate test

The description states that they both have dynamic resolution too.

PS4 : from 1600x900 to 1920x1080
One : drom 1344x756 t 1690x950

By the way if some of you missed the two Hidden weapons during the last part of the demo ( the shuriken and Shield )
here is how to ge tthem.
I rather find the combat a bit clumsier than duscae 2.0 here. No more manual lock on.
I even found the old battle system from duscae more intuitive at a time but have to be used to the new one now.
Just wished they would ve jjuste released a duscae 3.0 with party members in the battle and a summon.
The content of the demo is just so poor...How could you sell the game to people with that...really.

I hope the majority of the game portion maintains 1080p, 6 months should be a decent amount of time to polish things up.

The demo was so strange! Parts of the graphics look incredible, while others make it look closer to FF13 on PS3. Some serious aliasing going on and the framerate was all over the place. Very weird.
