60 should have been the target, IMO. As this is an action RPG and not a more traditional turn based or semi-turn based RPG where framerate is less relevant to gameplay. Heck it's more 3rd person hack and slash than RPG. Thus it would benefit greatly from 60 fps.

As a hack&slash it's quite slow, 60fps wouldn't make much of a difference. It there was some shooting involved or really high speed movement then I agree it would make more sense to target 60fps.60 should have been the target, IMO. I hope the final build is 1080p/30 on the PS4 at least since The Witcher 3 with tons more foliage and bigger game world already is.

If FFXV was a "mere" hack&slash I am sure they would ahve gone for 60fps but FFXV it is not a H&S.
I didn't see any improvement in Dark Souls being 60fps and in fact I prefer to play it at 30fps. That's right, come at meThere may not be much shooting, but there is certainly a lot of dodging involved. The timing of which can be relatively short at times from some of the let's plays I've seen. Just like 60 FPS made Dark Souls 1 and 2 significantly better (well other than the fact that weapon degredation ticks are tied to framerate), despite the slower pace of combat compared to most hack and slash games, 60 FPS would make FFXIV significantly better.
As such I have absolutely zero interest in the game on either console, but if it comes to PC I may check it out.
The entire Duscae region [demo does not cover it all] is supposedly 1/10 of the game landmass, and the engine supports full TOD/weather changes. Demo did not have rain effects.
It certainly is a hack and slash action/RPG game. That's what it has been ever since it was first introduced as the Action Final Fantasy game when it was Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

It's scary how realistic this actually sounds, I've no doubt something like this would happen should the final version fall short of Full HD.Don't worry. You can rest assured that Square will re-release the game at 60fps on PS5, then re-re-release it, still on PS5, with a new 'remixed' soundtrack and maybe somewhat indistinguishably higher resolution textures.
In a few years they will of course re-re-re-release it on PS6 in 4k/60fps. With a demo of FFXVI, and everyone will buy it just for that.
Of course! I always speak the truth. It's scary how realistic this actually sounds, I've no doubt something like this would happen should the final version fall short of Full HD.
_The removal of Stella character from VersusXIII which didn't fit in the story changes of FFXV. And the new introduction of a new heroine named Luna who has a different role within the story.
_second part is with the crown city of Insomnia : shown in the opening of VersusXIII. ( first real-time sequence at the time where Noctis and Stella meet ) This scene has been removed from FFXV as well and that it was replaced with another sequence and event.
_ Last point is concerning the deletion of the scene of the party in the city of Insomnia. Some player would probably have been worried of not having a proper gameplay experience in the city of Insomnia but the team is looking to able the player to have some gameplay sequence in the shinjuku-like city ( insomnia )
criously they call it as FF XV Trial Version 2.0 instead of Duscae 2.0.
does they releasing the demo to public?
I still have it but has not tested it after HDD upgrade.
Btw tabata-san said there will be other demo that available for public right? Or my memory is playing tricks at me
