Renault's Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso has lept into the world of online comics, where he will be transformed into a superhero.
"The Universe is in danger. Fernando Alonso is one of those chosen to try to save it but first he must pass a difficult test."
That is the premise of the new Sector 97 comic, which was launched on Thursday, and which will have Alonso as protagonist.
After nine months' work, Sony Computer Entertainment Spain launched the first chapter of Sector 97, a 10-page comic where Alonso will face a series of tests, backed by a group of superheroes.
"All children dream, at some time in their life, about being a superhero and saving the world. It's fantastic that this wish has come true at the age of 24," said Alonso, who denied his evil virtual rivals will be named Raikkonen or Schumacher.
"They have no name yet, but they are superior beings."
