I find it oddly amusing to note that the piece of crap ford pickup doesn't appear to have as much as a scratch on it, while the front end of the ferrari is completely caved-in...

I'm also scratching my head why the ferrari driver crossed the double yellow lines in the street. If someone suddenly drives out in front of me, pretty much the last thing I would do would be to steer in the same direction he's going, but maybe I'm missing something in the chain of events here that would clear this particular mystery up.

The piece of crap ford as you call it is actually pretty nice. It is clean and so forth as well. I would rather have the ferrari obviously, but only so I could sell it.

It looks like the ferrari driver was not paying attention though. There are no skid marks at all, and he is in the wrong lane. Seems he glanced up from his blackberry and swerved or something foolish like that. It almost appears he tried to get hit. I saw someone do that in front of me once. A car pulled out and they could have hit the brakes and clipped the bumper barely (like 2 inch contact area) instead they swerved to make the crash way worse. Another time I saw a car change lanes without checking the blindspot and tap the side of a truck. The truck driver went crazy and smashed into them super hard two times. People are strange.

Its rear wheels as well? I'm not so sure about that... The car's positioned more on the opposite side of the street than on his own side of the street. If he'd been t-boned in the side by the truck then sure. You'd expect the car to get knocked aside, but in this situation that does not seem very likely IMO. I'm pretty sure the driver swerved, the ferarri guy probably thought he was some Super Driver or something who could avoid the collision without having to use the brake pedal.

Perhaps he thought if he avoided the front wheel of the truck he could slip right under.

Yes probably. He definitely wasn't pushed over there. If he had been the tire on the hood would have had to do the sliding. Not only are there not marks indicating it, but also the rear as grall said was over there (and shearing marks on hood don't really look apparent either).

To me it looks like this:
Ferrari coming from left, Ford about to enter the road
Code:
-
        |
Ford driver does not notice Ferrari, or underestimates its speed, and enters the road with rapid acceleration:

Code:
     - |
Ferrari driver notices his lane is suddenly completely blocked by Ford and instinctively tries to go around the Ford from the direction that (still at this point) has enough space. His hope is that the Ford driver would step on the brakes at this point, in which case the Ferrari would be saved.

Code:
       /\
Too bad, Ford driver didn't step on brakes, instead he kept going wither without noticing Ferrari until feeling it under him, or still assuming he could make the move before the crash.

Ferrari driver may have been speeding, but IMO it looks like the initiator of the accident was the Ford driver.

Here in Sweden it's per definition the person turning onto a bigger road who have to yield to other traffic, unless there's light signals, signs or such of course indicating otherwise. So probably the ford driver who caused this mess (hope he's got insurance or it's going to be Real Expensive for him...)

Then again, if you drive a sports car, chances are you're a cock who think you can drive whichever way you like (including heeding speed limits only at your own convenience), but there's of course no evidence this was the case here... Like someone said, lack of tire tracks would point to the speed not being all that high.

Seems the ford driver just wasn't paying attention. Best of all, nobody seemed to have been hurt. Just some wounded ego(s)...
