Awesome! It's interesting to think that was translated from Hungarian. I wonder how different it is in that language, since it's decidedly un-poetic in English. but I dig the sentiment -- it's a worthwhile read.

Nice to see so many people into poetry, even Davros and all his novelty poems are fine by my book. Just wanted to get a taste for some new stuff and share. I'll leave you with something I found on the web Don't take this the wrong way -- believe me, it was meant to be inflammatory, but only to show that the "other side" thinks as we (i'm wildly generalizing here, for a relatively "western" audience) do, badly cross-referenced poetry and all -- and just try to see thngs from another perspective for a few minutes.

That's pretty powerful stuff.

As for that Sandor Weores piece I posted, I always thought the translation was pretty good.

But as I dont speak any Hungarian you can pretty much ignore my opinion. I work with a lady who speaks Hungarian fluently - I'll ask her opinion and share.

Man, I'm so glad you took that the right way. Yeah, somehow I find it reassuring that somewhere out there, little Muslim kids are stickin it to The Man with poetry, too... just feels right.

Yeah that Hungarian poem, if you find out, it'd be interesting. the phrasing in that on'e's pretty crucial. But, odds are it's translated "pretty well", at least!
