SS2 HDR (+AA) works with older Radeons too, so it doesn't use FP blending, that's for sure.

HDR + AA doesn't need any "proofing".Skrying said:Nice. This very much proves that HDR and AA together are very possible, very very possible.

[edit] BTW, I don't see the benefits of HDR in the images.
Rys said:Just a quick post to say that the Far Cry patch will eventually make it out (yay!), but not this year (I know there's bugger all days left really anyway ). Feb 06 is likely.
If you've used the patch you know how horrible it is to use and configure, to get their HDR path and AA to work together on X1K. There's UI work to be done to let users turn it on and off without the hoops you have to jump through currently, and it needs to go through Ubisoft's QA after that.Apple740 said:Are they waiting for Nvidia? (in case G71 can do AA+HDR too)
I don't understand why X1K owners have to wait this long. I've seen no issue's with the beta patch, it seems to work fine, and performance @1280/4xAA is very acceptable.

The patch, as some have access to just now, is in no fit state for public release.
Apple740 said:The "patch" I have is very easy to use. Set your desired FSAA in the Farcry videomenu, then open console and type "\r_fsaa 2" and "\r_hdrrendering 1-11".
It's more or less the same way how GF6&7 owners always did it. (except the r_fsaa thing)

Apple740 said:May i ask you how you enabled HDR on your Geforce card when patch 1.3 arrived?
I'm pretty sure that Common Joe with his X1800XT doesn't want to wait another 2 months for a checkbox.
