easy linux to play an intro.

Didn't know where to post it so I guess general discussion will have to do.

I'd like to learn/get advice for what would be the easiest way for me to run "the yellow rose of texas by fit_bandwagon" (available here http://www.scene.org/file.php?id=193001 ) They gave it best 4k intro of 2003 award and I agree, having seen it once at assembly 2003 bigscreen, it was amazing. I want to see it again. My only problem is that Im a deeply rooted windows user...

So I need linux. I have had like red hat 6 on my pc years ago and i currently have linux on my xbox but it was actually too easy (I didnt really learn anything, it just works) I still don't know enough of linux, i think, to succeed on my own. At least I wouldn't want to test many distributions... So what do you think would be the easiest way to run it? Maybe some specific live linux distro cd image would do?

I have no idea what those dynamical GL loadings and gcc 3.3 stripping tuning parameters are but I awfully fear they are not about car tweaking and naked babes...

Help on how to compile the source would be greatly appreciated.

note:
I absolutely want to actually run the demo, video is not acceptable.

My biggest worry, since nvidia seems to be quite a bit better choice for linux, I have no idea if it can even be run with Ati hardware (I got r9700)

I guess not?

Try Knoppix, it boots from a cd (no install needed) and configure automatically almost every hardware.

Do a google search for it (it's free).

does it support/include all those things listed in that link I gave?

Try it, or try fedora (you can get it at www.linuxiso.org , again, free, nothing illegal). Just install one of them and drop me a line. I will help you to get your ati working.
