E3: Challenge Fatal1ty and Gabe Newell!

Well I'm sure you've all read over at The Inquirer about being able to challenge Unreal Tournament vet Fatal1ty for $1000. No-one scored higher than 0 against him on day one, and finally on the second day, someone managed to lose against him with a far more manly 10-1 score.

What the Inquirer failed to mention was that you could also challenge Gabe Newell to a pie-eating contest. Contestants would have to finish 3 mega-deluxe minced beef pies (each weighing over 40lbs) before Gabe could finish his three. At the end of the first day of the contest, not a single contestant had completed their first pie before Gabe had finished his three. The same winning streak continued through the second day, too. In total, over 50 contestants were humiliatingly defeated in the first two days of the contest, and Gabe consumed over 200 pies (some as snacks between contests).

Some people got the chance to meet Gabe in person, and reported about it in their blogs.

When meeting Gabe in person, I was truly in awe. This was the man that had created Half Life, the game which had changed so many of our lives in so many ways. I actually shook his hand, and told him that I couldn't believe Gabe Newell was standing in front of me! He said he grew up much like me, drooling over Tim Sweeny and John Carmack. At the time, I thought he meant he was a gay. In retrospect, considering the spittle running down his chin as he was talking, I realise he was just hungry, and contemplating cannibalism to sate his insane desire to fill his bottomless belly. I asked him if HL2 was going to support Pixel Shader 3.0, and he said that he didn't really care what Valve did, as long as he could order fifty pizzas a day, and write it off as expenses.

f***ing hell jus met gabe newwell today he s a fat f***! e3 got 4 extra miles space jsut to fit his fat ass in. tried the pie fite got my ass handed to me lucky cos i thoght he might eat that too! LOL!!!! those pies were tastie culdnt finnish one tho. told him he shuld be a booth babe hahahaha cos of his boobbies he was lie, 'get outa my face you f***' i was like 'your face is so big, thats goin to be hard'!!! ROFL
