Do you think I'm realistic/scientific?

DemoCoder, you need to get out more, especially when I read :

There is life beyond staring at words displayed on a monitor!

:) Just kidding. Yours was a quite illuminating post to me, in the sense that I never quite categorized the things you categorized. That could be because you have that "break down" mentality when encountering various situations that demand solitude in thinking and in tackling while I have a "synthesis" mentality.

DiGuru, all I can offer is a suggestion, which is to just chill out :) Since religion itself (and, therefore, way of life) is mostly based on faith, making decisions to trust your faith -- your "gut feeling", your "intuition" -- in the field of computer graphics surely cannot be hazardous when it comes to sharing your faith/gut-feeling/intuition in a public forum. If this doesn't affect your livelihood negatively then all it is is just to promote discussions and possibly learning and imparting new insights.

Insights and opinions do not necessarily need to be based on scientific or statistical reasonings. They only need to be backed up by reasoning itself. If you do this, and if the audience is open-minded (which they should be in a public forum... if not, why should they be more receptive of the fact that their own religion is based on faith while not being able to be as receptive of various POVs in a public forum?), then you really shouldn't need to start this thread. IOW, if I can ignore the assumptions some folks here have made about who I am/am not while participating and offering my on-topic opinions about 3D topics (which these very same old-timer folks, with exceeding high "reputations" can't seem to do) where I hope to learn things, then so can you wrt how seriously you can or should take your participation in a public forum.

FWIW, I enjoyed many of your posts that were obviously based on your understanding of 3D as permitted by the industry (Microsoft mostly, via their documentations, however poor they may be :) ) while also appreciating your opinions that are NOT based on proven scientific facts.

PS. Sorry for the side-track (hey, it's permissible in this particular forum, right?) towards the end of my post above. Point being, trust yourself, not strangers. In doing so, you'll be happier here :)
