Hate beer, ever since i got drunk after about 8 pints, went to hell and back alive, i can't even handle the smell anymore, totally intollerant.

What a silly question!

I remember reading somewhere some speculation that beer is the reason civilisation began - people settled down from a nomadic lifestyle so they could farm grain to make booze!

The only reason Mongolians were traditionally still nomadic was because they learned to make a type of beer from mare's milk! :p

Nope.

Red Rev or Smirnoff Ice Trippleblack for me! (yes, we homosexuals drunk summer fruity drinks year 'round).

Ugh, can stand the taste of it. I might take some in a party to get a good buzz and be all social-like, but never on my own.

Liquor is sometimes good though!

I used to love it, it was a staple of my diet just like coffee was for years; but since having kids and cutting back on my drinking to about nil for the last 5-7 years I've found that beer don't always taste good to me anymore. :(

Some does, an ice-cold Heineiken still tastes like nectar-o-the-gods on a hot day....but I had an Old Style a few months ago and it just tasted like shit to me. (I used to love Old Style too. :( )

I'm not in AA or anything, and I haven't "given up the drink"....I just don't have the time for it or dealing with hangovers right now in my life.

I never pictured me able to live without drinking, yet I haven't even missed it....who'd of thunk it? :|

Well, if you're drinking American beer that's entirely understandable. ;)

Seriously, the mainstream American lagers are absolutely atrocious beers with 'Bud' being probably the most tasteless drink I've ever encountered. Continental lager-style beers such as Heineken are much tastier drinks. Other Belgian-style beers are also very good as are proper cask-conditioned English ales.

Anyone else here like Wheat beers such as Hoegaarden and the various German ones (Erdinger, Franziskaner etc)? I've become quite partial to these recently although lagers are much better with a curry!

Disappointingly, no decent English lagers currently exist - it's all chemical-filled putrid rubbish here, including the continental lagers 'brewed under license' in the UK. :(

I was reading an article recently how Guiness asked some university(I think in Canada) to do a study on beer and the consumption of it. Suprisingly, they found beer actually helped prevent heart disease, cancer, and something else. A lot of beer though, (they said 3 at a time) actually helped increase illnesses. So it actually isn't bad, even good for you in limited quantities like wine!

Hmm....where is my Amber Bock now....
