DISCover Makes Another Appearance...

That's pretty sweet, but for a starting price of $1400, I'd rather just build one using a Ahanix or Silverstone HTPC case myself.

watch live TV from a Microsoft Xbox

Am I missing something??
Well there is a little asterick by that blurb that reads: "* May require additional upgrades or devices"

Mebbe they mean you can hook your Xbox up to it and watch an picture-in-picture of a TV feed while the Xbox is going, or vice-versa.

That wouldn't be too hard to do.

The page says the computer is running Windows XP Media Center edition, so they are probably just talking about the Xbox Media Extender. That lets you stream live TV from a Media Center Computer to the TV the Xbox is hooked up to.

It's a shame. I really was going to build a HTPC (Silverstone case, they're darn sharp looking) but with them crashing left and right, I figured the wife would be pretty pissed off. For now, the average user is better off with a TiVO unit imo.

400 dollars buys you the Digimatrix with built-in graphics and sound, no HD, no CPU, etc. And I've heard there's a crapload of problems with them, too.

Personally, I would prefer something more like this, (at least, if they could get that stupid handle taken off the top.):

The Spresso looks realy ugly IMO. Anyway Newegg is selling the Digimatrix for only $320 and that includes a builtin CD-R/RW/DVD slim drive so all you need is cpu, HDD, memory.
