You know what's weird... Out of all the PS3 games, and with Ze Power of Ze PeeEssFree hanging in there, the game i'd want to play the most is that quirky Flow, the 2D-ish game which i'm sure is like a sleeping pill for Cell and RSX...

Is there any confirmed price for PS1 games?

Not finalised, but $5-$10 was the given range, depending on the game.

IGN says the PS1 games won't be day one, but will arrive in later November. Apparently also they'll roll out ten new PS1 games per month.

Also, with the first list of titles, some will be there day one, with others following through the rest of the year. Mainichi Issho will also be completely free, but I don't think fl0w is (?). The rest have free demos.

Anyway, I'll be all over Jumping Flash! as soon as I can get it.

I was actually about to say the same thing... its the same reason why I play geometry wars more than any other game still... When I saw flow on the day one download list I was CISED... :D

When that PSone catalogue fills out, that page is going to be very...dangerous :D

Also, one picture of the friends list, with apparently custom avatars:

ZOMG!

I want the japanese menus! They just look so cool and japanese and quirky... I won't know what anything means but it can't be too hard...

Two versions of the titles? Are those Demo and Full versions?

Yes.

Also, you'll be able to download this for free:

These guys apparently are some sort of Sony mascots in Japan. They'll give you news/new information on a daily basis.

Also, here's another of the games..this might be the Sony puzzle game:

edit - oops, last one is not free. The thing with the cats is probably the free Mainichi Issho.

that last shot with the vertical listing reminds me of....Media Centre....and the skateboarder looks like he's from MSN, but with a black touque. :p

;)

Like the menus. Pretty slick.

Jumping Flash! I loved that game for PS1... it was arguably the first 3d platformer to use 3d properly!

Also, iirc, Motorstorm was confirmed as a downloadable demo for launch too. And not be a semantics whore but, not all those games you list under the DEMOS sections are really demos (flow, blast factor, etc. those are full games!).

The official of supported formats has been revealed as well:

PS3 Formats
Find out what types of media Sony's new beast supports.
by Anoop Gantayat

October 26, 2006 - Sony is clearly intent on making the PS3 the all-in-one hub for your home entertainment. A new list of media formats supported by the system right out of the box includes a variety of hard and digital formats, and should satisfy the needs of just about everyone.

The hard media has been known for some time, but here's the full list.

# BD-ROM
# BD-R
# BD-RE
# DVD-ROM
# DVD-R
# DVD-RW
# DVD+R
# DVD+RW
# CD-ROM
# CD-R
# CD-RW
# Super Audio CD

The PS3 will also allow you to access a variety of media file formats from the video, music and photo menus of the Cross Media Bar. We're assuming these files can be stored anywhere, including the hard disk and memory cards.

VIDEO
# MPEG-1
# MPEG-2 (PS,TS)
# H.264/MEPG-4 AVC
# MPEG-4 SP

MUSIC
# ATRAC (.oma .msa .aa3)
# AAC (.3gp .mp4)
# MP3 (.mp3)
# WAV (.wav)

IMAGES
# JPEG
# GIF
# PNG
# TIFF
# BMP

We'll be sure and put all these formats to the test once (if?) we get our launch units.

All of those games will have demos though, too.

Motorstorm and Resistance will have day one downloads in the US, which this list doesn't necessarily reflect. Hopefully the US will get the good stuff of the Japanese downloads, though, at least..! FWIW, I believe they're eyeing 4-5 downloadable demos on day one in the US (asides from demos of games like fl0w, Blast Factor etc., I presume).

I thought the answer at the show last week was "under $15" or was that another downloadable product they were referencing?

"15 and under" was for e-distribution downloads (arcade games). PS1 games should be 10 and under, and many around and under 5 dollars according to Peter Dille of Sony.

Also worth noting, Japanese retail kiosks with apparently sport DMC4 demos amongst others..I wonder how much work it would be for Capcom to put that demo on the network :D
