I few days ago, I swear I remember reading a post (not a thread just a post) about the ATI-Nintendo Hollywood. the GPU for Revolution. here's what I can rememeber from that post
*the two developments teams doing Xenon graphics (R500) and Revolution graphics (Hollywood) were almost completely cut-off from each other, were not allowed to communicate, although the two seperate teams DID actually help each other on a few things.
*Hollywood is some sort of exotic design, being done in the Valley. or some parts of it are exotic.
*used stuff that is a continuation of some of the things from Flipper that were inovative, but also some things from R5xx.
*and Xenon graphics was mainly being done actually at ATI's Toronto Center in Canada, as well as in Marlborough Mass.
*the ArtX team had been spread through out all of ATI.
*the guy who wrote the post said that he did not pursue the fact that the two teams were cut off from each other for legal reasons. Nintendo would not want MS getting technology it liked, or vice versa. the guy said he wished he had looked into it more. or something like that.
no doubt I forgot a few things, or mixed something up as I am only going by what I remember. I am 95% certain it was on beyond3D and not another forum. but when I search for any of the key words (Toronto, ArtX, exotic, etc) I come up with nothing.
sigh. nobody is gonna believe me. i guess the post got deleted.
