Crysis 2 PC edition OT

Gamer: Console graphics settings, your PC may be steam or coal powered
Advanced: For PC's with a little extra magic gaming sauce
Extreme: If you don't have a high end gaming rig, you're not invited to this party
Ultra: Only nuclear powered uber rigs that make all other PC's tremble with fear need apply

I'm not so sure whether making fun of the versions which will undoubtedly generate the vast majority of your profit is such a sound strategy to be honest. Anger a couple million console users with your pc elititst attitude or "neglect" a couple hundred thousand PC users who'd most likely have whined and complained one way or another?

Unless pjbliverpool = Cervat, who gives a shit how he describes them?

Back on topic, if a 4 core is maxed out 100% for the duration of the benchmark are there results showing how a 6 core cpu fairs in those benchmarks?

Are you talking Crysis or Crysis 2? In Crysis I've only had 1 core maxed out in the CPU benchmark. All the others were only about 1/3rd utilised.

If that angers console gamers then they're pretty touchy tbh. I think the majority of people have a little more about them than to take such a joke personally.

Afterall, the lowest settings in Cryis 2 are playable on some very old and modest setups by todays standards. Poking some light hearted fun at those people who probably represent the most casual gaming segment playing the game is unlikely to upset many people and may even encourage them to stump up for an upgrade.

And don't forget the console version had a light hearted go at PC gamers with the achievement "Can it play Crysis?" It swings both ways.

I was thinking Crysis 2 actually. You are right I experienced the same thing in Crysis 1 with my quad core.

What I note from that is that there will be more patches. A shame, some of the new visual effects are a bit buggy and/or ugly.

Does anyone else see little black squares in C2 post patch? Looks kind of like particle effect that isn't quite working and only really happens in the distance. 5850, and Very High or Extreme settings.

So that means people with speedhack and norecoil will enjoy they unfair advantage because Crytek finished patching their mess and they happy with the job done?

Just great!
Luckily if playing with decent people we can always votekick ...

Have an admin ban the hackers.

Not seen that one - I'm pretty sure anyway. I have seen scene lighting flashing on and off, with the entire scene being lit brightly and uniformly when the camera is aimed in certain directions, missing smoke in certain camera angles, missing water, other objects and such.

Also in the bugs department, NPCs getting stuck on level geometry, injuring themselves, and even dying (!), NPCs grenading themselves or their buddies, things of that nature. The AI is overall pretty fucking naff in this game, the god-like perception and aim of most NPCs that aren't bugged and preoccupied with getting unstuck from whatever bit of scenery they've gotten themselves caught up on.

Tons of times I've uncloaked behind a wall only to have shots raining down on the other side of the wall (uselessly), grenades come flying at me and so on even though I was completely out of sight of everything. Or all those times like, my elbow stuck out from around a corner at 50+ meters, and every enemy in sight immediately knew exactly where I was and started shooting. Stuff like that tick me off something fierce.

Whuh? Crytek abandoning their game prematurely AGAIN?

Starting up a pretty negative pattern aren't they! They did the same with both the original crysis AND warhead (which to this day is hardcoded to use the right mouse button to fire your right-handed weapon when dualwielding, meaning I can't jump without firing the weapon and decloaking... Terrible.)

Did/do console gamers care about Crysis 2? I'm so out of the console loop that I have no idea.

I never understood that why would firing a gun switch your cloak off

Because otherwise it would unbalance the gameplay. And whoever it is around here who gets their panties in a wad over the use of that word give me a break please :)

By the way, does anyone know of any C2 PC cheats? Gamefaqs has absolutely zilch listed. Godmode isn't that important, but unlimited ammo at least would be hella nice... :D The railgun for example is practically useless since you only ever find 3 or 4 of them in the whole game.

Speaking of railgun, unlimited weapon carrying ability would be fun too, especially as pistols aren't sidearms anymore. Only 2 primary weapons is VERY limited a lot of times.

found this (dont know if they work)

Press ~ while you are playing to see console. Tipe in “con_restricted 0″ and press enter button. Now you can enter these crysis 2 cheats:

Godmode: g_godMode = 1
Infinite suit energy: g_infinitesuitenergy=1
Unlimated ammo:g_infiniteAmmo = 1 or i_unlimitedammo = 1

Doesn't work. :( It just says "unknown command: con_restricted", and the same for all the other stuff too.

I'm seeing the same bullshit cheat codes repeated on about a million sites in google, and none of them work. Some thread on IGN claimed all built-in cheats for SP have been disabled due to crytek single-mindedly focusing on MP (and consoles, ugh). Even so, from what I read cheating, hacking and exploits have been incredibly rife in C2 MP. So much for their focusing efforts then. :???:

Depressing...

Best way I found to deal with cheaters is to beat them fair and square couple of rounds in a row and they go away looking for better hacks.
For that though you need a good team mate or two. Imagine their anger when they play with hacks and being beaten by normal players. Of course this works only in certain types of matches like Crash Site or Assault where number of kills is not the most important aspect.

Still, very annoying when you see whole so called 'teams' use norecoil hacks to 'win' matches.

Anyway I enjoy C2 MP a lot.
