Clock speed ceiling on NV40?

Is the NV40 that´s shipping now A1 revision, there where many i remember here that said That they had A2 running at 450Mhz+. If NV48 is a speedbump refresh would it not be yet another revision or "respin" paired with some 700Mhz DDR memory, 500/1400 core/mem sounds very good.

I would ignore whats actually stamped on the chips. I've just done some testing that would almost certainly highlight that there was a revision between the initial batch of reference NV40 Ultras that were sent out for the previews and those that are in circulation now.

I assume it´s about getting better yields overall. Right now it seem´s very hard to produce NV40 in high numbers and it´s been like 4 moths  since the launch. It seem´s that it will be avaliable in "enough" numbers to satisfy demands in late August. Is it IBM that not can deliver, or are there any changes to the 130nm node(SOI, SS) that are advancing.
Oh and btw Dave i think you can get the revision by software easier.

Weren't preview samples A0 and retail cards A2, implying existence of an A1?

Edit: My bad, looks like retail was A1.
