CELL from GDC

Heh, it's interesting to go back and listen to that after E3. I like how he talks about how great UE3 is :LOL:

One interesting thing when he's talking about OpenGL ES, and he introduces it like "well you're probably thinking this isn't really cell related. It is and isn't". And then he says "part of it runs on Cell, part of it on a graphics chip". And he sort of says it like he's being careful about what exactly he mentions. I don't know how significant that is - some graphics API stuff probably runs on the CPU anyway (?), and not purely just on the GPU. One other thing along those lines was him earlier mentioning about being able to do more vertex shading on the CPU (vs last gen, when talking about the big jump up required for content and game engines etc.).

edit - to clarify further on the vertex shading on the cpu point, he mentions "in shaders as well as on the cpu". Sorry for any confusion..
