Cannot wait for a Halo game at 60fps

Only then will I truly impressed. sure Halo is great, and Halo 2 will be even better, but these games both push Xbox hard enough to make 60fps impossible. for me, there is a huge difference between 30 and 60fps. dont even want to debate that.

I wonder, with today's programming techniques, instead of 2001 programming, could Bungie get the original Halo running at 60fps on XBox.

kinda like how Namco got the original 30fps PSX Ridge Racer running 60fps on the same machine, in RR HighSpec that came with RR Type 4.

Whether or not we see the original Halo running at 60fps on XBox within a year or so, or not, I sure hope Halo 3 on XB2 is locked at 60fps!!!!

IIRC, Bungie said they could have done 60fps on Halo 1 if they had been given enough time. 9 months ain't a whole lot really.

anyone here think that for the next gen 60fps will become a baseline for all titles? (well cept maybe puzzle games)

well an increase in memory capacity should bode well for 720p and above (trivial for next gen I think). but maintaining a high framerate has been problematic up till now so it would be nice to have that 60fps baseline :D

Not for an FPS, Chap. (Well, maybe for a console FPS, since they're already hurting on the speed and accuracy department from the control method.)

Regardless, I find HDTV support rather pointless right now. Nice, but affecting only a tiny amount of people right now. (Though I guess a few more will like going back to their games years from know when they actually HAVE an HDTV-compatible set! Hehe...) Considering the cheapest piles of crap for HDTV are still sitting at $600-700, most people are going to do without for a good long time.

Coming in as "standard" has amounted to little this gen. Next gen++

this little guy can only see one frame in a second. :)

on the positive side , he has plenty of time to watch details before the picture changes . 8)

Making 60fps baseline would be good in a few ways, but would also limit graphical quality. Anybody want that?

maybe, but I have a hard time beleiving we will that fill limited to that extent. An extension maybe should've been 60fps base for games where twitch actions are neceessary.
