Blu-ray expects to reveal launch details CES 2006

Sony has lots of HD movies ready to be released on BDROM, and they're all on MPEG2. Why would they just reconvert them all to MPEG4 when the MPEG2 versions will fit and run just fine on BDROM!?

There is a very simple reason. Some people on this forum hate Sony and therefore hate anything Sony is involved in. They used to bring up HD-DVD against BD and argue to death for it but lateley even they feel HD-DVD is dead on arrival. So, what to do? Oh yeah, bring up a next-next generation format competitor and use it to argue against BD. Not really smart though, as that format has even less widespread support than HD-DVD.

This is exactly 100% the reason why HVD is in this thread no doubt about it. Like others have said 0% support means people should be pushing HD-DVD (which does have support) here not HVD.

I have never seen any report even remotly suggest adopting HVD instead of BR/HD-DVD....why bec'se HVD is years away from taking shape.
