benchmarking Far Cry

Depends how long it is. If I'm going to legitimately publish it, I'm going to have to figure out how the hell to record gunfire.

ok, here it is in all its cludgy goodness

the demos you need for it are here (leached from 3dcenter.de forums):
http://home.arcor.de/xbugx/Download/FarCry/rebellion02.zip
http://home.arcor.de/xbugx/Download/FarCry/cooler02.zip
http://home.arcor.de/xbugx/Download/FarCry/researchdemo.ace

put them in their respective dirs in the Levels\ dir, then extract both files from the rar somewhere (it doesn't matter where as long as they are in the same dir together), edit the config.cfg file to tell the script where Far Cry is installed, and that's it.

It runs 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x960 and 1600x1200. It'll spit the results into a .txt file in the same dir as the script. Here's an example of what the output looks like: http://www.rage3d.com/temp/ratchet/farcry_aiw9600xt.txt

Hah, I was right.

And you said you couldn't record gunfire. Oh, ye of little faith. :)
I didn't say it was impossible, I said I didn't think you could.

Regardless, enlighten us on how you do it

Was it your idea from last night? Who got that thing to do that thing you wanted it to and how? I couldn't figure it out. (Then again, I was up with my wife most of the night...she's feeling better now)
