Back from holiday. :-)

Just had a week in Kenya on safari.
Outstanding, I would recommend it to anyone, the whole week was like one big nature documentary!

Stayed here http://www.kicheche.com/
The food was great, and it was quite an experience listening to the wildlife outside your tent at night. Several times I was woken up by the sound of elephants grazing on the trees outside my tent.

If anyone is interested my photos are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/captain_chickenpants/

Now I just need to figure out how to save enough money to go again.

Welcome back!

Did you catch any rare SGX Desktop parts in the wild?

Looks like you saw a little of everything: all of the different animals out on the plains.

Some nice close and candid photos. What was that zebra doing rolling on its back?

Imgtec stock would make you the money in short order for another visit! Seriously, the market has barely begun to recognize the earnings situation developing over there.

Canon EOS 30D with a 100-400mm IS lens.

The comfort zone of the animals varied quite a bit. The lions were completly unconcerned, we were about 10 feet away from them feeding. One of the male lions walked past our vehicle close enough that we could have reached out and patted him (no one did).

The leopards are supposed to be quite shy, but didn't seem too bothered either. Warthogs and Thompsons Gazelles were ok until you turn the engine off. Baboons ran as soon as we got anywhere near them. A herd of Elephants walked right around our vehicle, and when we moved the vehicle (as they guide explained that they don't like to be seperated) we got a bit of a telling off by a big female (she trumpeted at us and started walking towards us).
