ATI at E3

WOOO-HOO! They're premiering Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Louder!!!! :D

Yea ... it was quite impressive list of games... are we sure any of these really need high end cards..

Interesting that Dell's logo appears on the top of that E3 page on ATI's site. Suggests that they will be unveiling their new gaming PCs with R420, picking up where R360 left off. I distinctly recall that Dell was not among the many NV40 launch partners. Was it not Dave that was saying that ATI had clocked the 9800XT with Dell's requirements in mind? So is this happening all over again or is this just a coincidence? I realize that Dell PCs aren't for hardcore gamers - just looking at this from a corporate relations IHV/OEM perspective. :)

Well, if you want to keep this thread in this forum, you might want to dissect this quote:

ATI will present the first public viewing of its latest graphics technology

Doesn't sound like its just a linkup with Dell on stuff that would have already been talked about since this is the "first viewing of ATI graphics technology". So, what do you think it could be...? ;)

Are you going to be there Dave?

Edit:
Hmm if this is the FIRST public viewing of its latest graphics technology I wonder what it means May 4th will actually bring?

I thought the Spanish site revealed clearly the NDA lifts on the 4th - so is this unconnected to the first display on the 12th? I imagined they have all their editors packs out 2 weeks ago, then do briefings, and ask for previews if not benchmarks and in-depth game analysis before the 6th May.

before the 6th May.

Hope so, that's my b'day. ;)

I think there will be previews from websites etc on May 4th but this is not really 'public' public, ahem. Public to me means actually bein able to handle the cards and play with them without the necessary requirement of working in the field as a lackey, I mean 'journalist'.

May 4th Previews. May 12th Public Unveiling. June cards on shelves. Why June? No supplier is making ANY noises at all in the UK at least about any new card from ATi but they are about NVIDIA. Either ATi have information under really tight control or the cards are not shipping in May.

Soooo, they're launching the Pro on Monday and the XT/XT PE at E3? :|

I think they have decided to launch both cards together. Makes more sense that way but I could be wrong (Common sense and graphics cards = oxymoron).

Ding, Ding, Ding.. We have a winna!! I think this is a very smart move by ATi. Simple as that.

XT PE? what's that?

I don't understand why Ati would have 2 presentations for the same "technology".
Ok, one has 12 pipes, the other 16, but they are basically the same. Am i wrong?

Sorry for my poor english.
