Voyager program is basically the peak technical achievement of human civilisation.

Voyager was a fantastic milestone. I'd hope it's not our peak technical achievement!

Carl Sagan has a lot to do with it being damn right poetic as well. What a beautiful man.

The travels and encounters of the Voyagers (and Carl Sagan too!) were some of the prime motivations to me to pursue a career in astronomy.

Off the chance some of you might help, I'm planning buying my first telescope, 8''+ mirror.
What to look for, any recommendations up to around £500? New or 2nd hand.
It will be used with a camera, mobile or human attached to it.
    Many thanks in advance!

Arecibo Observatory is going to be demolished, after it had been damaged by cables snapping. Such an iconic place. Seems like a real shame. Sounds like the science it was doing is not funded to the levels that would allow something new to be built.

Rocket Lab managed to successfully return and deploy a parachute on their first stage last night. Next step on the road to reuse, catch one out of the sky with a helicopter. :-D

Mejor. Es una divinidad menos genocida y más justa, realmente.

On topic, this seems so tragic. I know it was supposed to be demolished after the damages, but damn, it looks like it can't wait to cease to exist. Suicide.
