Holy crap Nebula, some of those look stunning. Even the gal looks decent! The AK's texture seems too low-rez and I don't know what's up with that FOV but otherwise some of those scenes are really impressive. Thanks for these.

(now I have to go away lest I receive another phone call from my ISP :p )

Hmmm. the anti aliasing in the fallout 3 screens is insane :D !
What's ur rig mate ?
Also, I have a HD4850 and 64bit XP, and can't seem to be able to turn on AA in FC2, any ideas?
I can't remember if the AA works in STALKER:SOC or not, I'll chaeck tonight, maybe its a universal problem with the 4850 !

E8400 +4870. I have it running at 1280*1024, vsync, max settings (a bit beyond it actually) and 4xAA with transparency filtering option in Fallout 3's option menu enabled. Its almost always a constant solid 50-60fps. :D

Are you running in DX9 mode? Becouse I think you need to run it in DX10 mode for AA to work. Or you need to enable the Catalyst AI (in ATi CP) and set to standard or advanced. Stalker SOC I dont know, I never got AA to work with it but Clear Sky is good.

I am running in DX9 mode and I can turn on the AA, just that the whole screen starts flickering if I do so.
I think the catalyst AI is enabled, I'll check tonight though.
BTW, my rig is Q9450 + HD4850, FC2 runs smooth at 1360X768( I run it on my 32' Bravia) !

Fallout does look great indoors ! Outdoors is great but kindof everything looks the same !

Here's some Crysis goodness ! Nothing beats Crysis in visuals as well as gameplay, I had helluva a fun time last night :) !

Crysis is something special!

And if you have not played Warhead the I highly recommend you to. Its one if not the most cinemtic action FPS game that plays and looks like a movie I've ever seen!

About Fallout, the outdoors do have variation as would be expected in such type of environments, artwork is top notch with authentic Mad Max/Water World/"Plisken Snake" movies design. Weak points are textures upclose and some assets geometry like your arms. Though the textures do look surprisingly detailed just a couple of meters infront of FOV.

Oh yeah ! I'll surely get Warhead as soon as I finish Crysis ;) ! Don't get as much time as before, these days, but I am trying to finish it as it is so much fun !

Here's some screens I took earlier, without AA !

Transparency AA in Crysis

In a bout of extreme boredom last night I decided to try and get transparency AA working in Crysis (again..). I started my googling with a simple "tsaa crysis" and this thread appeared. In short:
  • Enable TSAA from the NVIDIA CP but leave everything else alone (don't know if this works for ATI)
  • Enable at least 4xAA in the Crysis options - 2xAA seems to work also but doesn't help too much
  • Equip the pistol . It's true, the foliage will look smoother when you have the pistol equipped. Don't ask why :?:
Despite the wanky instructions I decided to give it a shot. No go at first, but I decided to try again in DX9 mode and lo and behold it worked! No more jagged foliage! I really makes the game look so much better, but the performance hit can be catastrophic even on my GTX260 at 1440x900. But in screenshots it's amazing. If ImageShack's registration system wasn't borked right now I'd post some .

Jaggie foliage has never bothered me in Crysis, infact at 1680x1050 jaggies in general dont tend to be that noticable :)

Nice find homerdog. Though foliage "jaggyness" I have not seen in the way of being jaggy. Even upclose teh edges looks good with form. But it looks way to thin unless (like I do) play it with edgeaa set to 2. That makes the foliage thicker and IMO nicer looking.
