I haven't read every 690 article but none of the ones I did read went into great depth regarding the audio portion of its HDMI port.
Will the onboard HDMI be able to pass along multi-channel PCM audio from BR and HD-DVD movies, something that usually requires protected path audio, or will we have to fall back on good old dolby digital? Of course multi-channel PCM output means you could actually have your receiver playing multi-channel audio from games without compression. That would be pretty cool too. Anyone know if this chipset supports these features or will we have to wait for the R600?
