If it sells, building custom mainboard to overcome 'large iGPU' BW limitations would be a nice solution have cheaper gaming PCs.

Yeah, and maybe the PCIe throttling is there to not violate non competition agreements with MS.This is actually a salvaged Series X SoC.
In this particular case, I think any dGPU that is used for anything other than 2D and simple 3D is probably going to behave terribly.
AMD claims the PCIe slot only uses up to 4x PCIe 2.0. That's 1GB/s...
