I guess when the next generation consoles are released battery manufacturers profits are going to go up, up, up.

The thought of buying batteries all the time for your dual control, rumble pack and flashing lights game pad.

Errr Maybe you missed the part where you can just plug the wireless controlle to the console to charge it while you keep playing. And the part where it said that the bluetooth PS3 controllers will last about 24 hours before needing to be fed.
If you don't like them wireless, just keep them plugged!

i have a logitech wireless controller for my ps2 since a month.. if i knew before that it would be such a cool thing I would have bought it many years ago..

WIRELESS ROCKS MY BOX THEROX!

microsoft also mentioned wired controllers were going to be available...

i wouldn't worry - the more options the better. personally i can't wait for all my controllers to be wireless... so much tidier

I use a bluetooth keyboard everyday on my main system with non-rechargable batteries. I only have to replace them every 2 months.

The more important thing you should be asking is latency. BT keyboard works great, i use it in counterstrike. But BT optical mice for some reason are "laggy"

Wireless mice also eat batteries alot faster than wireless keyboards. My Logitech mouse is like the cookie monster, if cookies were made of batteries...or something.
