How do I play my DC games on my PC monitor?? Please explain clearly as I dont have any idea about it.....does it look better on monitor than on TV??

You need a DC VGA cable or a Treamcast (click here or here).

With Treamcast, there is a switch to select VGA mode for US/Japan games or normal TV outputs (Composite, S-Video).

Using VGA output to play on monitors gives you more crisp image comparing to TV oriented outputs.

I am also using Treamcast with my DC.

what other options are available?? as it may not be available here in India....and which is the cheapest/best option??

and I forgot to ask about sound!!! How will the sound output?? Can my DC output through my PC speakers??

I got the official first-party VGA Box from SEGA Japan (works with any region DC) for about $40. Third-party native VGA Boxes/adapters/cables are said to be of the same quality, and you used to be able to find them at videogame stores all over here in the US for as low as $10-$15. Unfortunately, DC inventory has mostly been cleared from most places now.

Most VGA Boxes allow you to run the DC through your PC speakers just as you'd think, so no problems there. If you're sharing your monitor between your PC and DC, you might want to think about getting a VGA Box that has a switch for changing between the two (there was a third-party box that did this, but it may be hard to find now. SEGA 1st-party VGA Box doesn't have PC pass-through.)

Anyway, the picture through a Dreamcast VGA Box is best-quality. You'll see detail like you've never seen it from a console game before.

Just a quick word of warning; there are a *few* games that only render to TV field resolution instead of the full 640x480 and so you won't get VGA. I think "Incoming" is an example.

I have a DC and I got a treamcast.

Here is my problem, I've been too afraid to try it because I don't want to blow a monitor or my dreamcast. The reason for this is because the treamcast cable which plugs into the back of my DC doesn't go in all the way like my regular cables which came with my dreamcast.

So, does anyone else have this cable issue or is there something wrong with my treamcast.

Mine (also a Treamcast) has no problem with my DC. May be you can try push it a bit harder.
