3rd party ties with Sony/MS/Nintendo

MrSingh made a stunning revelation that Final Fantasy 11 was up and running on Xbox, long b4 PS2, only to be scrapped due to circumstances, LIVE circumstances.

That and surely you heard news/info of game A in development for platform X, only to be yanked off suddenly.

Goes to show that most 3rd parties are free and willing to develop on any platform. The idea of gamestudios having close ties with X console, developing only for X console, needs some rethinking.

IMHO, as long as the time place and situation is right, ANY gamestudio will develop ANY game on ANY consoles. I dont think 3rd party relations are as tight as previously thought.

This sets up every new generation nicely. The sales counter will reset to zero and everyone has a chance to be the new leader IMHO. Who suckerup most to 3rd parties, who wins, right?

Yes I'm sure, told in official NINTENDO Magazine in France, confirmed by NINTENDO Europe. (except if both decided to make it an April joke, but websites having got the confirmation told it wasn't an April joke.)

And yes the new rumor talks about a remake of MGS, a longer/director's cut version for the NGC, some think 'Twin Snake' indicate a multiplayer game...

I like to hear some developers' POV, ya know, how exactly does 3rd parties work? Do they really stick to a system? Sales plays a part but how strong that part is?

IMO, the only exclusives are either 1st party ones and money hat$ exclusive. Well duh!, but the point is i think 3rd party are whatyasay, "fickle" minded, the best deal gets my games!

Um its called a smart move by nintendo . Just like getting the re's . If nintendo can steal other systems popular games they will steal alot of fans from the system. Heh i know a bunch of people who only own a ps2 for ff series. If it came on the xbox they would jump ship quickly .

That was just a ridiculous misprint of a misprint. MG game is confirmed for GC, that is all that is known. MGS4 most definitely won't even make it on this generation consoles, it takes them ages to make a proper sequel, and considering that MGS3 will make it at 2004 at earliest...

They haven't allways been owned by Microsoft. Halo has been in development *long* before Microsoft acquired them, and yes, PS2 version was even confirmed back then, along with PC and Mac versions.

A Metal Gear title is confirmed for GC, with Miyamoto having some hand in it. Its announced in Nintendo Power and on Nintendo's website:

I think its just gonna be a remake. Maybe if it sells well, other MG titles will follow.

Well he does say past and present... But I did have a Set3 and Set5 box to play with for a while even though nothing was ever released...

As for the Xbox rumour with FFXI, I find it amusing since it was running on PS2, and PC hardware before we even saw our early XDKs... Unless you want to consider the PC an Xbox or something...
