0: No stereo support (default)
1: Frame compatible formats (side-by-side, interlaced, anaglyph)
2: HDMI 1.4 (PS3 only)
3: Stereo driver (PC only, NVidia or AMD)
4: Dualhead (PC only, two projectors or iZ3D screen)
100: Auto-detect device for platform

Well I finally got the answer to my question anyway. Crysis 2 on PC does indeed support 3d natively on the PC with just a regular 3d TV like the consoles. No need for special drivers or hardware. The only requirement as far as I can tell is GPU that supports HDMI.

Incidentally I'm running it at 1080p DX11 Ultra settings (max everything) with the high res texture pack at about 50fps average . Thanks to the increased resolution perception that 3d brings the picture quality is CG perfect. Game looks absolutely stunning like this in 3D and running butter smooth.
