So double the battery life over the stock 1800mAh one?

It wont get quite twice the power . More like 1.75 . We have it in our computer for 39.99$ But its listed as october

No shit, if you just look at the 'quality' of most 3rd party PlayStation Memory Cards, 3rd party batteries would explode in your hands! :p

It's not just _PS2_ memory cards. Even a member here was complaining about a 3rd party GCN memory card.

You highlight my reasoning as well - Batteries are even worse imo as the potential castrophe is MUCH worse than losing your Metroid saves.

How'd they get 3600 mAh into a battery? The biggest LiIon batteris at the moment (as of a few months ago at least) are 1800s, what Sont went with. Is the pack larger? And if not, it won't be long before Sony release an enhanced battery pack (though at a hefty price I imagine...$70+)

Ugh! How come third-party peripherals rarely come with style?

you serieous or what ? regarding it comes a bit of the casing?
you get another caselid or something?

From the picture. it seems to include a caselid, or the whole packet replaces the old battery and caselid, the new battery having a "fixed" caselid or the battery itself being a battery and a caselid at the same time.

The battery itself is bigger than the standard battery in the psp , the physical size itself . So i dunno if they give u a new lid , dunno . Just going by what it says in the computer

looks as though the battery is the lid itself and it also looks as though it will stick out a bit

Why not twice the power? Where did you get the 1.75 number from... did you make it up?

I fear 3rd party batteries.

Really? I've never had a problem with 3rd party batteries - I use a high capacity battery for my Canon digital camera, and it works just great, despite only costing around $10 (normal batteries were around $50). My iPod has a cheap hong kong knock-off in it and is working fine. The only problem I've seen with cheaper batteries is that if you leave them in something for ages, they tend to break down more easily/quickly - so cheapo alkalines should not be left in something that rarely has its battery changed.

Never heard of 3rd party batteries actually damaging a piece of equipment personally.

And yeah, it looks like the battery sticks out, but has a clip on it, so you can't actually cover it. Not sure whether I'd want one after reading that - but 3600mAh is pretty shmick, I'd have to recharge less often on my trip away, and it would mean I'd almost definitely never run out of battery. Will have to think about this one!
