2x4-pin auxiliary power connector?

Now when I got the original X1800GTO back and wanted to go Crossfire I needed another 2x3-pin aux power connector and since my PSU only had one I found a guide online on how to make one with a couple of molexes, a 20-pin mobo connector, some electrical tape, and a hacksaw...and it worked great. So well in fact that I built another recently to have two to hook up to the 2900 with. (I had to swap back for my old PSU, the one I was using didn't have the juice. They MEAN 550w this time!)

So anywho...

I can't even see the overdrive panel to see temps/fan speeds without that 2x4 connector instead of the 2x3...does anyone know of a guide or have a clue to tell me about whipping one up from used bits? :|

I know it's a longshot, but those have been coming through for me a bit lately. ;)

It comes with one? I hadn't checked...

Nope. None in the box. All manner of viddy dongles/adapters, no power ones.

Maybe it's an AMD/ATI thing, but I've always gotten power adapters with my nvidia cards... Wait.. OEM?

This will help you with the specific wires/voltages:

Basically, you just plug in another 12V and ground in parallel to the ones you've made. I'm sure you already knew that though. :oops:
Code:
8-pin
1234  ->12V
5678  ->GND

6-pin
123_  ->12V
456_ ->GND
As for where to grab that extra pair... hm... just another molex? Ack... nevermind (I assume you don't have anymore). I guess maybe off of the auxiliary 4-pin that plugs into the mobo.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but for instance I can't find Newegg selling the darnn things. Too new? Or a technical issue?
