$2500 to spend - what would you buy?

If you actually want to spend the full amount then I would probably go with a pair of GT's in SLI. Or perhaps wait for this new GTS and get a pair of them (each one being at least as powerful as an Ultra).
I thought about that option at first (new GTS 512 SLI) but then I realized that the 256-bit MC meant only 4 ROP partitions are possible so its unlikely to exceed the Ultra except perhaps at low res.
I hadn't realised it had fewer ROPS. Bummer!

Same here. Still looks to be a nice card, but an Ultra-killer won't be available until the dual-GPU G92 launches in a month or two. Single GPU Ultra-killer is unlikely before Spring.

dual monitors? how about the border between the 2 screens? how is the 'real estate' divyed up in games?
When I mentioned Dual-monitor, I was speaking from the desktop perspective. From the looks of things, when you have crossfire/sli, you can not run dual monitors even for just the desktop.
Rumor is that Crossfire X changes all that. I'm still not sold on CF completely though, after my first go-round with X1900 XTX CF.

Considering their current track record, their hookers will be greatly unnatractive whilst preaching about the superiority of natural titties over implants(even though their titties are drooping bags of skin, compared to the competition's nice and perky implanted ones), whilst the blow would be priced the same as the competitor's, as if the hookers weren't a tad bit uglier and nauseatingly preachy WRT their naturality. I am going to wait afterall. I just went out and bought some new games to hold me over until my system is incapable of playing the games I want to play. Surprisingly, the Orange Box plays incredibly well on my X1650 XT. All settings maxed @ 1280x1024, w/4xAA & 16xAF.

Yes, that would be very sexy, and definitely on my list of considerations for my next build, especially since I'm a flight-simmer.
