Crikey. Where to start with Musk this past few days? He must have received a really, really sketchy batch of Special K. Either that or the long-expected psychotic breakdown has finally begun.
For those outside the UK, I presume you've heard about the crazy accusations against the Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister and one of our other ministers, Jess Phillips, accusing them of being 'genocidal rape apologists'. Or it might have been enablers. I forget.
Here in the real world, the grooming scandals aren't at all a secret. There were headlines in the newspapers, endless journalistic investigations and many documentaries broadcast on national TV about the various scandals with apologies coming from various police forces and local councils who had failed these poor children. Ultimately, there hasn't been a massive cover-up and there have been multiple enquiries carried out over the years, including an 8-year national enquiry covering all aspects of child sexual abuse, including the grooming gangs:
In the final report from this particular enquiry, Starmer is actually praised for the work he did as Director of Public Prosecutions at the time.
Thousands of offenders from across these scandals have been imprisoned.
Phillips is well-known for her work in supporting women's rights, worked for a charity which aimed to end domestic violence against women and children and was a 'victims champion' for various groups including groomed children.
Now, I don't like either of these two a great deal, truth be told, but you'd have to be an absolute lunatic to throw baseless and deeply stupid insults at them.
All because Musk has apparently taken a liking to Tiny Tommeh Ten Names. Sorry, 'Tommy Robinson', née Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. A far-right racist grifter and career-criminal who is, unsurprisingly, currently in prison. Not a free speech campaigner, a grifter who deliberately and repeatedly broke the law, putting abuse prosecutions at risk. He's a horrible little scumbag. Absolute vermin.
Now, the grooming gangs in some of the towns were mostly comprised of people with Asian (i.e. Pakistani/Bangladeshi) ethnicity, but elsewhere in the county, other gangs were mostly white. White girls the usual victims. The racists like to claim the victims were picked because they were white girls (I suspect this is what has triggered Elmo) but, quite simply, it's because they were neglected children who came from difficult backgrounds. This ultimately meant that they were out on their own late at night, susceptible to being plied with drink and drugs and therefore easily abused. Just the same as the girls who were targetted by the entirely white groups of abusers. The scandals came because the local police didn't believe their reports, or failed to investigate properly.
That's some background to Elmo's latest ignorant craziness.
Musk must be really, really bored sitting on his arse doing nothing in Mar a Lago, shitposting left, right and centre. His latest is to promote Andrew Tate, who is somebody even worse than Tiny Tommeh. OK, the various rape and trafficking charges against Tate and his brother have yet to go to court, but you'd think that Musk, suddenly mounting an angry campaign against historical rapes (which have already been prosecuted), wouldn't be quite to keen to associate himself with such a sketchy character?
In other social media wingbattery, I see that Zuckerberg has noticed which way the wind is blowing in the US and has now solemnly announced that facebook is going to stop fact-checking stuff, in the name of 'free speech'. Imagine being so, so rich that you really couldn't ever spend the amount of money you already have, but so gutless that you'll bend the knee to ensure you can keep getting ever-richer. Anybody else suspect that 'free speech' will be a definition which moves considerably over the course of the next few years?
Obviously, Elmo is by far the worst of these guys, but Zuckerberg and Bezos really aren't that far behind in the soulless oligarch field.
