I like the scope and detail in distant objects. Like this scene, with distant valley showcasing nice detail [bridge and a structure near it].

BTW, if they are keeping cinematic light following Aloy all the time on PS5, will that mean that we will finally get a game with great SSS on main character during regular gameplay?

Combat has not being improved at all:
Narrow fov + unresponsive camera / aim = need slow-mo gimmicks / hooks in order to properly fight against machines. The latter shouldn't be needed so much in all fights.

I think everything has improved alot except for the graphics itself. Very much PS4-look to them. Not thats bad, but its a clear difference to R&C for example.

combat was one of strongest apsect of horizon 1, problems were in story narration, npc's, dialog animation, density off the world and from what I'v seen every of this aspects were improved, graphics also substantial boost: npc face animation, draw distance, lightning, world is defenitly more detailed, even as a crossgen will be probably best looking game (will change later once ue5 games will starts to arrive)

Replaying it right now, and combat, particularly melee is not that good. Even at 60fps on PS5 its not very responsive and even ranged has it problems. The preview video does look like both are improved, though.

Combat was the strongest point and it wasn't improved. They just added gimmicks instead of correcting the character controls problems. I am pretty sure those problems won't be seen on the PC version.

Beautiful!

Man the folks at Guerrilla Games are super talented! When you compare it to the previous game, it's just night at day. Facial animation and rigging is just on another level, material shaders are VASTLY improved in many areas, and there's much more density and fullness to the visuals in general.

We're at that point that the devil is really in the details. It's in all the extra small things that a person notices... animations, physics, particle systems.. everything working together more cohesively than before.

Sony fans are in for a treat with this one!

You can't change the field of view on the console versions of HZD? Man that's pretty unfortunate. First thing I did on the PC was whack it up to 90 even on a 21:9 display.

This just looks massively better than the first game. It's going to be interesting to see how the PS4 version of HFW compares to the HZD.

IMO, best graphics (or at least most pleasing to my eye) on PS5 thus far, although I suspect GOW:R is going to look better.

Yea, this and God of War: Ragnarok are going to be so gorgeous.

I think, from what I've seen so far.. is that Horizon FW will edge it out technically.. but God of War: Ragnarok will have the superior presentation.

Doesn't matter one bit though. Both will look glorious! I'll be playing them both on PS4 anyway lol.. since I'm not too interested in buying a PS5 if I can help it. I'll have to wait for potential PC versions of those games before I get to experience them in 60+ fps "next gen" glory. :)

You need slow-mo because the age old issue of dual sticks - they're very bad for almost everything you wanna do in a game, regardless of genre. You cant aim well with sticks, respond to events fast or accurate enough, track moving enemies, do many simultaneous actions, etc. Just the nature of the dual stick controller being poor in general

The issue is that almost zero gamsz support gyro aiming. Sticks + gyro is very fast and precise.

IMO this game will steal the crown of best looking game 2022 easy. Art, atmosphere and tech is simply stunning. If this is (wich i doubt) the best gfx that next gen can offer i am more than fine and happy with it. The bar is set very high

I'm really looking forward to the continuation of the story more than the visual upgrade. Though having looked at the extra life and the realism of the NPCs I have to admit it's going to be awesome overall. I've pre-ordered this and Elden Ring on the PS5 and Dying Light 2 on the PC, though I might cancel that and swap to the PS5 version. I've just ditched the 1TB 980 I had in my PS5 for a 2TB SN580 instead in anticipation :D

100% agreed. The game will look amazing, at this point graphics is only going to take us so far. But I REALLY need to know what the heck is going on with the story, as that was, to me, the strongest point in the first game. So good.
