You should take another look at the wiki. But you're still wrong since 1080 was launched at 599 and 2080 at 699 and you've said 1080 is at the same price point as 2080.

If only this was ever any different, on any GPU of any architecture.Yeah announcing 30 Tflops of shader power made everyone go crazy. But of course with apparently double the FP32 performance of 2080ti, it manages around 30-40% improvement in actual games. What a surprise?

Amazing how Doom Eternal isn't so CPU-limited.
That's my point, the performance increase for Ampere is as I expected for games. It's a great GPU for the previous anchored price. Most don't know any better though and are sucked in by marketing. If only this was ever any different, on any GPU of any architecture.

Already did multiple times. It says 1080 $599, 2080 $699You should take another look at the wiki.

There were 2080s at MSRP at launch.there was also no 2080 standard during the initial launch, only FE, which was $799.
2080 for $699 was a powerpoint marketing price only, it launched at $800 for FE and AIB cards. It was a long time before it was actually available at $700.Already did multiple times. It says 1080 $599, 2080 $699
It says $599, no?

1080 was launched as FE only for about a month and a half. So $699.It says $599, no?
I get the feeling from all the videos that 1440p is the [native render] sweet-spot for 60fps PC and console gaming during the next-generation. Because the next-generation of gaming @ 4K/60fps without DLSS, is going to be a bitch across AMD based PC/consoles (if no comparable solution exists), other than dynamic or CB resolution scaling assisting towards high framerates.
