Beside his well known programming lead and design assistance on Sonic the Hedgehog, Yuji Naka is credited with writing the first emulator of a video game system when he programmed the Genesis to reproduce the NES. He was also the lead programmer and one of the creators of NiGHTS and helped to produce the first network RPG in Phantasy Star Online that connected players worldwide across the language barrier and was accessible enough for a console.
