Does ddr333 gives better performance than ddr400 with nf2 chipset and the new 333fsb xp2700+?

I heard something about performance gains when memory and fsb are inline.

If you were to run just the memory at 200 FSB (DDR400) and left the cpu at 166 then yes, the synchronous 166 set up would be faster. Fortunately almost all nforce2 boards allow you to adjust your multipliers so there's no reason not to run synchronously at 200 FSB which would be considerably faster than 166.

Conclusion: With both single and dual channel memory configurations synchronous CPU/memory operation is faster. The only advantage to running memory at either 333MHz or 400MHz will be evident when combined with CPUs that also operate at a matching FSB speed. Currently no AMD processors run with a 400MHz FSB officially.

FYI: Disproves my theory.
