can also be 1/6 depending on clock frequency oo the G5.If underclocked enough ,it can even be 1/20.

Dev Kits is 1/3 of the final XB360 HW, this include the CPU Right?

you know ,to me that sounds exactly like :" GT3 uses only 25% of the ps2 hardware".

heh well if there is an actual hardware diffrence then there is more truth to the claims .

If you had a hardware system that specs out to 1/3rd the hardware specs of the final product then its fine to claim it .

I think this article probably gives a good idea of the CPU performance Xbox 360 's alpha kits have
I belive the alpha kits are clocked slightly lower not much , also it was my understanding that the updated kits last year shipped with x800pros in them. However i don't know if they were all updated to x800xts or only newer ones were sent with the 16 pipeline cards once ati's yields improved

xenon = half cell , better ? :D

How do you know this? Is Flops the end all Metric?

" dual core CPUs need more bandwidth than a single core to make a difference and increase the "CPU perceived" latency. Cache coherency and getting access to the same memory bus all increase the total latency that the CPU sees and thus, lowers performance."

xenon has low bandwith, 3 cores and very little cache...

Oh goody. More theoretical benchmark scores with extremely generic calculation methods.

2GHz machines were all that were available when the kits started going out, so the bulk of them are probably 2GHz machines that came with 9800Pros or Pro 256s later on... If they have 2.5GHz machines then they probably wouldn't have gotten them 'till around September last year and those would've probably come with 9800XTs and then later retrofitted those and the older machines w/x800XTs... I doubt they would've use x800Pros as there's none available for the G5 (and they could've easily gotten priority over the XT when they did show up for the G5)...

Are you kidding me? What about Cell?? 8 cores...... :LOL: and less bandwith :rolleyes:

8 independent core ,all of them with own cache
cell's inside bandwith 200GB/s,
memory bandwith in:15+25=40GB/s , out:20GB/s

xenon's 5 GB/s membandwith is very low, i know gddr3 has 22GB/s but textures for gpu ??
