Will PS3 HDD really include Linux?

So would you be able to install ppc packages or compile for it?
It'd probably be like Linspire (fka Lindows), where you can buy pre-compiled apps for it, but anyone with the knowledge and determination wouldn't be restricted to running just what they offer.

Considering all the things they stated, and some were quite extreme, I guessed Sony didnt start the advanced ones and therefor not the simpler ones either. Aging movies in online Sony storage over night?

I am not saying Sonys programmers are unable to do all the things PS3 is "expected" to, but none were realised at E3. I think it can be nice to not be burdened by some of the aspects of the PS3 and out source it to a cool hip firm like Google or Yahoo that do compete with MS too. It could have been a great alliance. But it has been a long time since E3 and atleast the simpler aspects of PS3 should be done by now.

To answear the question in the topic. Yeah, Linux is a better alternative than any other OS, even though Linux is not Unix - the big server OS. I guess they could just include some of the existing Linux programs instead of writing their own. Cheers!
