:D

I wish Nintendo would release a new Wavebird with rumble for playing GC games.

Yes, I have seen demos of the wii-remote being used sideways, but this is the first I have seen of an actual new controller that has what looks to be dual analog thumb controllers similar to the sony controller. It also looks to be wired and not wireless.

Wii's "traditional" controller

For those of you who don't know, this is Wii's "normal" controller to be used for normal versions of games.

It looks like a cross between an SNES controller and a PS2 controller. Hopefully the thumbstics are comfortable. It might be awkward playing N64 games on this though.

That's called the classic controller. It's more of a classic control "pad". I wonder if you can use that controller for GC games too.

I think Wii has the same controller ports as GC so maybe you can also plug in GC controllers in to play GC games?

Yeah you can use the GC controllers but I was wondering if you can use this classic controller for playing GC games on Wii.

I can't imagine it being that integral to the system if they also have a GC controller "shell" or whatever, but seriously, if that thing is as small as it looks... it will literally be a huge detriment to functionality.

Ahh cool, i thought they failed to mention that in their post conference. At least nes & snes games will work well. N64 will have to be proven though.

Oh, will it work with Wii games, like for those that refuse to use the wand?

I remember hearing something about how the wii wand would go into the center of the classical controller, but I don't remember if Nintendo confirmed it. If you're saying that the controller is too small for normal hands, go pick up a SNES controller and imagine it a little deeper and with anologue sticks, it doesn't look like it'll be too bad hopefully.
