Where is PCIe PhysX?

Ageia nextgen PhysX card? or secret PPU project from NV? (card has 7600gt reference cooler).

Cripes. At this rate we're going to see an FX5800-esque PPU in no time :p
 
Reasons have been stated already. Why replace something that works. From a customer standpoint it doesn't make people happy. Look at AGP for example, people still hold onto that. PCIe really offers nothing in a number of areas.

Except for those of us who are out of PCI slots and only have PCI-Express slots left. Even if I wanted a PPU card, I couldn't get it anyways.
 
I also fail to see where are the PCIe 1x IDE controller cards.
anyway I'd buy a motherboard with three PCI slots, and you can even still have four with an asus M2V (which while cheap should work and accommodate a K10, 8GB ram and geforce 9999 GTS..)
 
That makes me wonder if we'll get that level on the consoles as well and be able to see how well it works there. Nice stuff.
 
I'd love to see an 8x PCIe 2nd gen PPU. It'd fit right into my current system assuming I ever get it to work prperly. :p

The idea of offloading stuff onto processors designed to deal with it appeals to me rather than just pile it ontoo the CPU. Even multicore CPUs have limits and as I've noticed myself they're quite noticeable too when 4 cores compete over one single memory bus.

I call bullshit to their claim of 40% speed-up, unless there's been a major recent patch for PhysX and GRAW-2. At XtremeSystems some have experimented with PhysX cards. When they enabled PhysX in GRAW2 they see slowdowns. Once they overclocked and watercooled they were able to get the performance back to level field. They never saw performance increases over running the game normally.

the q6600 at stock speeds uses DDR2-533 (PC2-4200) yes ?
 
Yes. Check my signature for details. The best fit memory is DDR2-800 PC-6400. You can control memory dividers. The Intel line works well with async memory, it's not like the AMD line which tends to suffer.
