When is Kutaragi's CELL demo scheduled???

Wasn't Kutaragi supposed to demo the first CELL this month??? SCEI needs to show something in the light of Xbox Next unveiling in March 24th...

Why do they have to show something? Last time I checked Sony was winning 70M to 10M with no change in sight. It's not like the market is pegged to Microsoft's schedual....

March 2004 demo was rumored since last year. It has nothing to do with Xbox Next. I am awaiting this demo to laugh at Sony fans expecting a teraflop in a box..

Can we make a deal, like if STI fails you can laugh all you want, but if they pull off a TFLOP-in-a-box we can watch you meet Hara-Kiri? Just an idea.

Of course SCEI could pull a teraflop in a box size of a dishwasher right now, I am talking about a $399 console launching in 2005. That was the promise, PSX3=1 TFLOPS, right??? Showing a CELLCube and say "Here is your Teraflop in a box, now bow down and worship" doesn't count.

Looks like I will be the one to laugh at you...

I think we're all talking about that size, or rather some people are talking about a single IC:

What if a non Sony next-gen console was released with a reasonable fraction of a TFLOP in 2005? Would you change your mind for a Sony Console release a year later?

Xbox Next -> 1 Ghz R500 8 shaders = 64 GFLOPS

So Xbox Next is aroun 100 GFLOPS.

Deadmeat, yeah I've been wondering the same thing.

I do expect Sony to answer the Xbox 2 challenge with something cell-related, this month. it will be interesting to see what goes down. no doubt whatever it is, it will ignite the countless message boards dedicated to consoles, like this one. 8)
