what will the released NV45 improve over NV40?

I don't think nVidia will be entrusting any high-end chips to TSMC anytime soon.
What with ATi trying to accelerate the release of their 16 pipe variants of R420 it seems to me that Huangs comments "hoping the yield at TSMC will be good" were a jab at ATi/TSMC - i.e. yields at IBM are great, how about at TSMC???
